Studio Earthrise is an initiative of Daan Helming and Dirk Bijl de Vroe. We support companies, institutions, governments and initiatives in the transition to a sustainable future.
We believe we are the first generation to know exactly the crises we are facing; we also believe we are the last generation that is truly able to solve them. In order to do so, we must simultaneously focus on all levels these crises: the symptoms, the systems and the stories.
Through The Oikos Collective we also support this goal by co-developing training programs, travels and a community of practice that aims to connect people, nature and society.
About our name Studio Earthrise
The name Studio Earthrise is inspired by the iconic photograph taken on Christmas Eve 1968, when Apollo 8 astronauts captured the Earth rising above the barren lunar horizon. For the first time, humanity saw itself from the outside: a small, fragile, blue sphere floating in the vast darkness of space. That single image—later named Earthrise—changed how we see our planet and ourselves. It revealed Earth not as an infinite resource, but as a living, vulnerable whole. More than any report or policy document, it sparked a global shift in awareness and helped ignite the modern environmental movement.
