About Us
. We are Daan Helming and Dirk Bijl de Vroe. Two people who have been working together for over a decade in different roles, deeply rooted in the belief that we can shape a thriving, sustainable future. With over 15 years of experience in strategy, program-, project-, interim management and sustainability education, we help organizations navigate the complex transition toward a world in balance with nature.
What makes our work different is the lens through which we view today’s challenges. We see symptoms like climate change and biodiversity loss not as isolated problems, but as signals of deeper systemic imbalances; in how we structure our economies, how we define progress, and how we relate to the living world. We also believe in the power of stories. From ancient philosophies to modern business models, the narratives we live by shape the systems we build. And the futures we create.
At Studio Earthrise, we work at the intersection of systems and stories. We support governments, businesses and institutions in crafting solutions that are not only technically sound, but also culturally resonant and ecologically aligned.
Through our sister initiative The Oikos Collective, we focus even more deeply on the narrative layer, helping to reconnect people, nature, and society, and exploring the kinds of worldviews that can nourish a more regenerative way of living.
The path ahead is not easy. But it is alive with possibility.

Daan Helming
Daan Helming has over 14 years of experience in the field of consultancy and sustainability.
He advises various corporates and (semi-)public organizations and is currently the program lead for infrastructure at the Collectief Natuurinclusief, which focuses on the transition to a nature-inclusive society.
Besides Studio Earthrise he also co-founded The Oikos Collective
Founder
Dirk Bijl de Vroe
Dirk has over 15 years of experience in sustainability as a consultant, entrepreneur, and sustainability manager at grid operator Stedin. Other companies he founded or was/is associated with include Treebytree, The Oikos Collective and FamilyForest.
He is as a sustainability strategist for various organizations, and develops programs that bridge the gap between people, nature, and society.
Analyst & Support
David de Bruin
David de Bruin is passionate about sustainability and the energy transition. He has worked with organizations such as Stedin, Groen Licht, and Sungevity, gaining hands-on experience in sustainable operations, energy transition strategy, and behavioural change.
He's the most hands-on of us all, contributing a large share of his time together with his girlfriend to regenerative projects in the Netherlands and abroad.
